Getting the Support you Need

STEP 1

Get in Touch

Call or Visit our Coleraine Hope Centre

The first step is to visit an Open Door Café session which is a welcoming café open 4 times a week at the Hope Centre. The Open-Door Café is the gateway to all the ways we can help.  

At the Open Door Café people receive emergency help and are signposted to ongoing support that is tailored to their unique needs. The relaxed café style environment helps put people at ease as they tell their story over a cup of coffee with a befriender who will identify their needs and explain our range of support services.

We want to help empower people to overcome challenges so they can achieve their full potential in life.
External agencies can refer clients directly via our REFERRAL FORM. 

Visit The Hope Centre at the following times without an appointment:  

Morning Sessions  

Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 11.30am – 1pm  

Evening Sessions  

Thursday: 7-8pm

Meet with us

We listen to your story and work out how we can help

At the Open Door Café we want everyone to feel welcome and safe. You will be met by our team and will be offered free tea, coffee and treats from the cafe. Over a cuppa, one of our befrienders will listen to your needs and will tell you about all the ways we can help you if you are struggling to afford the essentials or need one of our support services. 

Our aim is that by the time you leave the Open Door Café that you feel a weight has been lifted off your shoulders and that you know someone cares about you. 

STEP 3

Receive help

Receive specific support tailored to your needs

At the Open Door Café you will get immediate access to food, toiletries and other essentials from the food bank and can make appointments for access to other services that we provide. 

Some visitors may only need or want one-off help or short term support with essential items, but many visitors have a range of problems that will take longer to tackle. Our trained support workers can help draw up a specific, long term plan that includes help from our support projects and other partner agencies.  

Our team is here to offer practical and emotional support to people in the Causeway community who are struggling to afford the essentials and need help to get back on their feet. This could include things like debt advice, mental health support, or benefits guidance.

    Helping people in our local community who are struggling to buy food and household essentials.

  • Clothing

    Clothing Bank is a place to find clothing and household essentials at no cost.

  • Debt Help

    ‘CAP’ is a debt counselling service to empower people to help themselves out of debt.

  • Counselling

    ‘Compassion Counselling’ provides professional counselling support to anyone in our community struggling emotionally.

  • Housing

    ‘Compassion Housing’ offers advice to anyone experiencing homelessness or risk of homelessness.
