The Power of Giving - A Good News Story!

During a time when good news is in short supply we wanted to share a remarkable story of generosity. Earlier this week a member of the public came in to make a donation to Foodbank. Elsa in reception was astonished to learn how their donation had sprung from the generosity of others.

While enjoying a meal at Urban the night before our new donor and her partner were having some banter with a younger couple at the table next to them.

The banter continued as the couple were leaving when they jokingly suggested that their new friends “pick up the bill”. They were absolutely flabbergasted to learn that the younger couple had indeed paid for their meal. The member of the public was so touched by this gesture she wanted to ‘pass it on’ and donated £90 to Foodbank which was the cost of their meal plus a bit more.

At times the world can seem like a cold place but it’s good to remember there are numerous acts of generosity happening all around us. We would love to hear from you about similar small acts of kindness which have left a big impression on you or your family. #smallacts
